9/26/2023 0 Comments Mac mini m1 monterey issues![]() I have not worked with my 2 external monitor (Philips 244E) for a while. I write about some problem! I work on a MacBook pro 15" Retina, mid 2014, with mac OS Big Sur 11.1. Thunderbolt and USB-Ethernet adapter problems! No more recognised - macOS Big Sur Hi, I'm aware that it may well be a firmware bug with the monitor but I thought I might as well also ask here (although I have also posted on the Dell community).Īre others able to reproduce this issue? Is there a solution? The monitor is at its latest available firmware (M3B106) and having read through various Dell community threads it appears that others with the same issue have been pointed here. Upon investigation, I noted that the MacBook's System Report shows that the Hub connected via the USB 3.1 Bus in question is indeed only recognised as operating up to 480 Mb/s (it is recognised as Product ID:Đx8442, Vendor ID:Đx0451 - Texas Instruments, and is utilising host controller driver AppleT8103USBXHCI. I've noticed the following issue with this setup I have a few peripherals connected to the monitor's USB ports, which should operate at USB 3.0 speeds (up to 5Gbps) but in actual fact I've observed only USB 2.0 speeds (up to 480Mbps) - most notably with a USB NIC which I have connected via the monitor. ![]() I run the monitor at its native 3840x1600 resolution at 60hz. ![]() This single USB-C connection allows for the display data as well as power delivery and connection of the inbuilt USB 3.0 hub on the monitor, and is one of the primary reasons for having chosen this monitor. I recently upgraded to an M1-based MacBook Air and purchased a Dell U3818DW ultra wide monitor, which I connect to the MacBook Air via a single USB-C cable (which was supplied with the monitor). Do I need to install a certain Dell ethernet driver to realize full gigabit speeds?ĭell U3818DW monitor USB-C hub speeds stuck at USB 2.0 Hi all, This is clearly a macOS and not a hardware issue, but I'm stumped. Wife's 2019 MBP 16" also shows the same limitation, both on macOS Monterrey but the issue was showing in Big Sur as well. Per Dell's advice, I updated the monitor's firmware to the latest firmware (M2T102), unplugged and rebooted everything, but I'm still seeing ~500-600Mbps through the monitor. I'm hoping someone has an answer for me, since I upgraded from the U3818DW almost entirely to get ethernet connectivity and a true one cable connection to my new M1 MacBook. Brand new MacBook M1 Pro laptop, genuine Apple Thunderbolt cable connection to the monitor (Dell U4021QW), nothing else connected to the laptop. Ethernet connected directly to U4021QW. I verified full gigabit speeds (Fios symmetrical gigabit internet) to the laptop using and old usb-c hub, and when I plugin my work laptop (Dell Latitude 5520) via Thunderbolt I'm getting full gigabit speeds.
